Black Sunday is the tenth episode of the third season of Salem, and the thirty-sixth episode of the series overall. Black Sunday is also the final episode of the series. It premiered on January 25^th, 2017 on WGN America.

Synopsys

"Sebastian and Alden face off to the death at Dinley’s while back at the mansion, the Boy and Anne convince Cotton to sacrifice himself in order to save humanity and Salem. Mary misplaces her trust in Anne, which leads her to be trapped inside the sarcophagus. The fates of characters such as Tituba, Hathorne, Alden, Mary, The Boy, Mercy, and more are all determined on the series finale. Some will live, many will die."

Trivia

• This episode is the second time the Countess Von Marburg is not portrayed by Lucy Lawless. She was already portrayed by Ava Ticotin in a flashback in Dead Birds. Funnily enough, Janet Montgomery acted like Lucy Lawless portraying the Countess pretending to be Mary Sibley.
• Due to various administrative choices of WGN America, the final episode of the third season is also the final episode of the series overall. WGN America has not renewed any of its original TV Series following the aforementioned administrative choices.

Cultural References

• Black Sunday is a term used for many historical tragic events and is also one of the many terminologies used to refer to the Black Mass, the Devil's Mass.
