To physically appear in two locations at once

You stalk the halls of my home, yet you stand on the ship before me. How?
— Mary Sibley about Bilocation

Bilocation is the power to physically appear in two locations at once. This ability may be considered as an advanced form of astral projection that allows the witch to project their consciousness to another location without their physical body falling unconscious.

Notable Users

  • In The Wine Dark Sea, the Countess Von Marburg demonstrated this ability by physically appearing simultaneously in both Sibley's home that holding a conversation with Mary aboard her ship.
  • Since the event of the previous episode, Mary Sibley mastered this power as shown in Til Death Do Us Part, when she bilocated herself in the woods and on Von Marburg's ship, but it looked like she couldn't speak in the woods, so maybe her projection was less real.

Trivia

  • This power is somehow related to Teleportation (to disappear from one location and instantly reappearing in another location) and Astral Projection (to project the astral body from outside of the physical body in order to travel from one location to another).
  • In the 17th century, persons accused of witchcraft were reported to appear in dreams and visions of witnesses. The trials at Bury St. Edmunds and Salem included this "spectral evidence" against defendants. Matthew Hopkins described the phenomenon in his book The Discovery of Witches.
